To support FutureSkills’ long-term vision for sustainable growth, we developed and executed a comprehensive internationalisation strategy aimed at expanding international student enrolments and diversifying the institution’s learner base.

This involved a multi-pronged approach, starting with the identification and development of a portfolio of programmes tailored to the needs of international students. These programmes were aligned with market demand and regulatory requirements, ensuring they met both NZQA standards and the expectations of international learners. Areas of focus included employability, pathway opportunities, and relevance to global job markets.

In addition to academic offerings, we built a robust support infrastructure that included:

• Pre-arrival and orientation services

• Culturally responsive student support

• Accommodation and settlement assistance

•  Dedicated compliance and admission services

•  Marketing and recruitment strategies targeting key offshore markets

The result was a significant uplift in international enrolments and a stronger brand presence in key markets. The strategy not only contributed to increased revenue but also enhanced the overall diversity and global outlook of FutureSkills’ learning environment.
